BoardAble

The BoardAble Programme enables participants to step-up to Public Appointments, NED roles and Senior Board positions

A unique role-model reinforcement programme stimulating excellence and inclusion in public life and on boards

Widening Opportunity

The need to address the imbalance at the highest levels of public and corporate life has been clearly identified. The benefits of diversity and widening participation at all levels within an organization are well established. For anyone considering such a role the best way of discovering exactly what is involved is to gain real life experience from shadowing others who are already there.

BoardAble provides individual access to inspirational role models plus bespoke professional work shops

Inspiring leaders who have been BoardAble ‘Shadow Principals’ include Sarah Anderson CBE; Dame Kate Barker CBE; Tracey Bleakley; Natalie Campbell, Dame Teresa Graham; Claire Ighodaro CBE; Kate Nash OBE; Sandi Rhys Jones OBE; Anne Watts CBE. Our thanks to these great women for their valuable time and expertise.

Designed for Leaders

BoardAble is for senior people of all backgrounds and career sectors interested in finding out exactly what is involved in taking on a Ministerial Public Appointment and/or moving up to a Board or NED role.

BoardAbility boardroom Boost Seminars

Interactive bi-monthly Seminars open to all senior leaders, currently via Zoom. An opportunity to discover what’s involved, connect with the Cabinet Office, programme leaders, NEDs and programme alumnae to share experiences of boardroom life, learn more about applying for roles and working as a NED, and gain top tips and insights.

An Alumna says: “I’m now clear on my aims and have secured my first NED role….The course was literally life-changing. Thank you!”

Dates for forthcoming BoardAbiilty Seminars and the 2024  BoardAble Programme will be announced shortly.

Both live and virtual events are interactive sessions at which you have the opportunity to meet other senior leaders and BoardAble alumnae.
